A unified way to understand your national phases.

Are your national phases going on as expected?

Sometimes it is kind of hard to understand why your South-Korean national phase goes through a re-examination before trial. Well, your South-Korean counterpart has a hard time being happy about his national phase receiving an ex-parte Quayle.

Each country has a different patent prosecution legislation, specific ways to publish key events and specific codes to label each event.

At worldwide level, the most complete legal status is issued in DOCDB format, though jurisdictions vary a lot. Besides WIPO standard ST.27 issues recommendations on how to exchange legal status data. Those recommendations aren’t always followed by the offices.

The lack of common criteria between offices makes it pretty annoying to understand the specificities of the legal status of your national phase.

That’s why we created a worldwide legal status analyser that gives an immediate understanding of the stage of your patents in foreign offices and arranges each legal status events inside specific categories in order for you to retrieve them and immediately understand what stages it had gone through.

Each event in any country is thus immediately classified in a generic way easily understandable for any patent lawyers around the world.

Have a look at our legal status section: https://www.ipst.at/legal-status/

We have now 12 countries covered: US, JP, KR, CN, EP, AU, CA, DE, FR, GB, SG and IL.

What about you ? What countries would you wish to add ? Let’s get in touch.
